Initial public offerings are experiencing unprecedented demand despite turbulent equity markets. Urban Company's IPO was oversubscribed 9 times, while Dev Accelerator and Shringar House of Mangalsutra saw 16x and 8x subscriptions respectively by the second bidding day.

SME IPOs demonstrate even more extreme appetite, with Austere Systems reaching 1,077x subscription. Karbonsteel Engineering and Taurian MPS attracted 77x and 12x interest respectively, while Airfloa Rail Technology exceeded 22x on debut - all predominantly fueled by retail participation.

This surge occurs against a backdrop of geopolitical tensions, weak foreign inflows, and currency fluctuations that have dampened broader market sentiment. Regulatory measures targeting micro-cap speculation have failed to curb the IPO mania.

"We're seeing 10-15x oversubscriptions consistently," notes Ratiraj Tibrewal of Choice Capital. "Recent IPO pops created FOMO among retail investors who now chase every new listing." The phenomenon highlights retail investors' growing influence in capital markets, even as institutional players remain cautious.
